We got the final call today at noon telling us the judge has made the final ruling and Yu-Wen, now Anna, is legally ours in Taiwan. Our "presence has been requested" in Taiwan on October 22 for "Gotcha Day" on Tuesday the 23rd and for our appointment with AIT (the American Institute in Taiwan, the consulate office) on October 24.
We don't have our official itinerary yet, but we will leave Reno late on the 18th, arrive in LA early the 19th, leave for Taiwan at 1 am, and arrive on the 20th at 6 am. We need to check, but we have heard the hotel we are staying in will allow us to pay for a half day so we can check in and clean up. We would have liked to travel through San Francisco, but there is some kink with the connections and we would have to re-check our luggage both ways.
We told Ryan that we would be leaving in two weeks and would be gone for two weeks but that he could see pictures of us on the internet. He told us he doesn't need to go far to get sister, "I just have to get on my program and go to 'little sister dot com". Kid of the 21st century I guess.
